CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Engineering Education at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Kentucky
The REU program at the University of Kentucky provides a 10-week multidisciplinary summer research and education experience for rising junior and senior undergraduates in the area of Engineering Education from May 22 to July 28, 2023. Undergraduate students (in either 4-year or 2-year schools) in a science, technology (including engineering technology), engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline who are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident of the United States are welcome to apply to this opportunity working directly with Dr. Sarah Wilson. The research project will focus on undergraduate engineering student mental health, with a goal of understanding the factors that influence engineering students’ decision to seek help for a mental health concern.
Program Dates: Monday May 22 – Friday July 28, 2023
Stipend: $6,000, housing on campus, & up to $300 in relocation expenses
The selected student will get to work and interact with a cohort of REU students at the University of Kentucky. They will get to participate in weekly seminar sessions focused on professional development and technical training. They will also have the opportunity to travel to a national conference to present findings from their research project.

Interested students must submit (1) CV or Resume; (2) Unofficial transcripts; and (3) A statement (one page or less, PDF) describing how research in engineering education will help them achieve their career goals over the next five years.
