Courtney is a second year Counseling Psychology Ph. D. student at the University of Kentucky. Before her doctoral studies, Courtney obtained her BA in Applied Psychology and Human Development and MA in Mental Health Counseling at Boston College. In addition to undergraduate engineering students’ mental health, Courtney has worked on research projects with subject areas in Alzheimer’s disease, trauma-informed care, sex positivity, Black women’s well-being, and social justice topics. Courtney also has professional experience working with first generation college students who are navigating their transition from high school to college; kids who are managing their mental health symptoms; men and women in substance abuse recovery settings; and adults who are working toward healthy eating and exercising habits. She is excited to offer her knowledge and experience in mental health settings to the RIEF project in the hopes of making mental health support for engineering students more accessible.
